“Beautifully renovated historical hotel with a super friendly welcome. Our room was spotless and really comfortable. There is some train noise during the night but it didn’t bother us that much (and would have been solved by ear plugs). The coffee and muffins from the bakery downstairs were sublime. ”

“The baskets and pots of colorful flowers outside was a nice touch. This was a spur of the moment stay for us during our travels and like staying at non-chain locations to support local communities. The one thing I would say, although the room was visibly clean, it smelled of animal urine.”

We went in early May (which can be spciy with weather), but we got a beautiful week. The time period also allowed for limited bugs, wonderful hiking weather, and zero neighbors. “We just wanted a quiet get away for a couple of days close to the North Cascades. We had hoped to see the fall foliage but it turned out we came a couple weeks early for the best of that. We stopped by the ranger station there in Darrington, and then drove up to Rockport and on to Newhalem to see what fall leaves we could. The cabin was quiet, clean and cozy. We loved sitting in the hot tub on the back deck and also sitting beside the Sauk River in the back of the property.”

“Beautiful views, plent of space, very private but close to towns and amenities. Road and railroad traffic wasn't too loud and not bothersome at all. A llittle disappointed to find we could not use the inside fireplace, but the cabin was very cozy otherwise.”
