“But no stranger to this area. Although the decor is a bit tired, the bedrooms had fans (which is a big plus) and everything you need for a self catering accommodation. The property manager Gabriel is such a lovely and helpful person. He manages another apartment that we have stayed in 4 times. It was a public holiday on the day we arrived and I asked Gabriel if he would be so kind to get some shopping in for us and he did, so after being up for over 24 hours, at least we could make a cup of tea……

“We had a fantastic stay at the Chindwin house! Our group of 10 people had plenty of room and enjoyed staying here for 7 nights. The pool was great fun after the sun went down, and the big covered porch kept us in the shade and out of the rain. From here we watched the monkeys every morning come down from the trees and walk along the fence line to the front yard. The place was clean and very welcoming. Staff came twice during our stay to clean sheets and towels. Plenty of parking for our two……

“Very secluded, quiet location, beautiful large clean multi-room house (we stayed in 2-bdrm). Awesome pool (up to 12' deep on deep end), beautiful property on old sugar factory location, fun hikes around the area through sugarcane fields. Large passing monkey troop can be watched in the early mornings.”

“As the website (now) says, this is actually 2 separate 2-bed en suite apartments. We (2 single friends) only had the downstairs one, which was beautifully clean and well-maintained, with excellent air-con, a good size kitchen area, and a good, shady, outside patio area. There is no sea view from there, and upstairs it is minimal and distant, so you won't see or hear waves crashing on the shore, which I had hoped for! The house is 10/15 minutes walk from Speightstown where there are very good……
