“We have stayed at the Elkader Jail House many times and the Harstad Suite is a great room for the 4 of us. The large kitchen and family space on the first floor provide plenty of space for everyone to get together and relax. Its nearby my family and takes the stress off anyone needing to make space for all of us to sleep. Its comfortable, clean and an easy to walk downtown. We'll be back soon!”

“Had a nice stay. The house was as described. Just a note that there are steps to each bedroom. If you have someone in your party that cannot do stairs that could be an issue. The house had a great view and the outside deck was amazing. Plenty of parking for our group.”

“From being able to read on the history of the farm. It was the perfect place for us to stay with my kids and mother as we got ready for my daughter’s wedding. Enough room to be able to sit relax visit with family and truely feel home! Seeing nature out in the yard. “This unique place has it all: charm, class, comfort, beauty, and fun. When you first walk in, you are greeted with a gorgeous staircase leading to most of the rooms. Our room was spacious, with a luxurious bathroom. The gourmet kitchen is equipped for anything and everything with seating for eight. The adjoining dining room has a large table with additional seating and windows lining two walls. And clean! This VRBO was impressively clean! I have to say the jail was a little eery after dark, but……
