“Welcome was excellent, room was nice but en suite requires some attention. The cistern ran all night wasting water and disturbing our sleep. Restaurant and food was great. Breakfast was ok. Lovely church across the road chimes on the hour and tinkles every quarter so not great if you're already awake because of the cistern.”

“Pros: Great location if you’re visiting / doing business in Ampthill. Great food and drinks downstairs. The staff were always friendly, helpful and welcoming. Cons: no on premise parking. Closest parking is a municipal lot…10 pounds for 24 hours. When I checked in my room was made up as 2 singles instead of a double as requested. Beds were a tad small & uncomfortable. Walls are thin, I could hear my neighbors “chatting” until midnight the night before I was planning on checking out. Otherwise……

“Lovely period hotel on the outskirts of Bedford. Good size bedroom and bathroom with all the amenities needed. Lovely bar area and the breakfast was fabulous. Would definitely stay again when in the area ”

“Had a lovely night here in a privilege room, Initially had to change rooms as there was a problem with a window, but the staff couldn't have been more helpful and found me another room straightaway. The room felt homely and had great views across the river and the town. The bed was so comfortable and the room was well equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom was great too. The only very small complaint was that all the windows were a bit drafty and could definitely do with updating, but……

“The management team is very friendly and helpful but security sense is not sufficient as the cleaning lady forgot to close the windows. If you do not request too high standard of room service, it would be a good choice.”

“I booked two rooms, but the staff could arrange two adjacent rooms for me. One was at 1/F, one at G/F. It sounded non-professioinal service when they did not consider such factors. Totally disappointed.”
