The check in was while sitting in a living room, they explain me all of the option for a day tour, the took care of my laundry after treking the Kilimanjaro. The lodge looks is wonderful, all is green beautifully plants, the room is wide, clean cacfully and really nice, the food is diverse and delicious. “Rooms are stretched over a beautiful area close to the ocean and are spacey and well maintained. Options of two bars/restaurants with friendly staff; service in general very good - which is rare in Zanzibar. Food and drinks are good quality and many choices but also quiet expensive , similar to the 5-star hotels close by. Otherwise one of the best spots in Pemba! ”

“I stayed with Maya’s other location Chibuba Transit lodge. hospitality tip notch, immaculate hotel with ample seating lounge area, breakfast area with healthy, naturally organic foods: eggs, cassava (yuca- root vegetables), carrot & cabbage salad (Tanzania style - absolutely delicious). the room easily accommodates 2 adults (tho I was only traveling solo). air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan in the room. private bathroom with rainfall shower head. “I stayed here one night after landing in stone town. Perfect spot to nap on and off to get through the jet lag and be right in the heart of stone town. Extremely walkable to sites. The rooms are spacious, excellent shower and super comfy bed. Very clean and was just what I was looking for. Please note that it was a bit difficult to find. The taxi just dropped me off on the main road because cars can’t access the small streets. Once you know where it is, it’s super simple to return to”

“I had hoped to walk from airport but glad I got a taxi as the walk would have been muddy and past several very sketchy characters. I had to pay cash because they had no record of my payment. $16 is what it’s worth. Friendly and comfortable with a nice shower once I was there. Recommend ed only for the adventurous. ”
