“It was very difficult to find a location for this accommodation before arriving. The only internet location we had been able to find, was incorrect. We had to phone the number provided then pay someone to lead us there. The sitting area was nice and there was plenty of ventilation. In a mosquito area, there were no flyscreens on the windows which meant windows had to be kept closed and the room was very stuffy and hot. There was no ceiling fan or air conditioning. “While there were a few surprises in the location of the property - the beach is much rockier and not as accessible as in the pictures - the hospitality and friendliness of the staff made up for it. Hassan our driver was incredibly helpful and Shakira our host was amazing. Angel in the kitchen presented a wonderful breakfast each morning and made a great Gin & Tonic (for medicinal purposes only). The pool is wonderful and pool perfect.”

“After booking Zoe the host sent me detailed descriptions of how to find the accommodation. Our taxi driver found the place without problems. It’s located in a local neighborhood close to the main road and outside the hectic tourist areas. Zoe lives in the same compound and is always available for any assitance. The house itself is clean, with good and stable wifi and has a big kitchen to cook. I recommend the place! will definitely book again. ”

“We had mostly unfortunate weather during our stay in Matemwe, which was a shame (and please note that the rain does not enter the villa, even during heavy storms, unlike one previous reviewer's comments). But the villa is stunning, Matemwe as a location is the least spoilt and developed of all the main beaches in the north of Zanzibar, and Natalia is a wonderful host. The photos don't really do it justice. The beachfront location means that when the sun is out, the best place to be is lying on……
