“Relaxing weekend away ! Excellent staff and service !”

“The Holly Inn is a beautiful place. Atmosphère and staff friendly and helpful… phone first if you need to eat ! Room was clean beds ok and sheets although pillow had a blood stain( droplet on it) Although I paid for better room was given a cheaper one upstairs. Here the room smelt of fried cooking and bathroom whilst clean was old and mouldy in the corners .. water from shower good. I would stay in this room again at the cheaper rate. Not full . Lovely garden for dog and our furry friends……

“What a stunning location! The rooms and service are excellent and we had a great stay. The food was generous and tasty. I'd certainly recommend The Punch Bowl as an ideal location to explore Swaledale. ”

“Showing some signs of wear but still plenty of evidence of its former glory days, rooms were comfortable and staff efficient. Breakfast choice was good and cooked food tasty. The toaster is a learning challenge! Central location can make parking another challenge but readily available free discs allow a 2 hour Market Place stay for loading/unloading. The castle and riverside are close by, accessed by steep slopes.”

“Greeted with a warm and kind welcome. Very easy to find and plenty of parking on site. It was a perfect choice for the 1 night stay we had in breaking a long drive from the north of Scotland to south yorkshire. Food and drink in the inn was very nice and the service by the staff likewise. Breakfast was included in the cost of the stay and we knew it was going to be as good as its past reviews. All in all a great stay.”

“Room was amazing and comfortable with fantastic views of the village, breakfast was a welcome treat. Was disappointed to find dirty cutlery in the dishwasher in the room on arrival. Very characterful and charming, overall a perfect getaway. ”

“Property is very old. Our room was completely lopsided so wouldn’t be good for someone with mobility issues. Needs a bit of spruce up as the photos don’t show the property’s current condition. Carpets need replacing and flooring in bathroom had cracked tiles. Very quiet though and couldn’t hear the noisy pubs around which were playing loud music with noisy shouting in the gardens. Windows have secondary glazing which kept it quiet. Breakfast was nice but tables close together. Property asked for……

“Very love area with walking paths, forest and birds, lots of birds. The dining hall, reception and lounge area are fabulous. The extra building housing non-suite rooms is very tired looking and cold, but the price reflects that, so no complaints. Staff is very helpful and attentive. I would definitely stay there again.”

“1-night stay for a business trip. This hotel is in a convenient location right on the Scotch Corner junction. Room was clean and as expected, easy parking. The restaurant was OK for both breakfast and dinner, not fine dining but decent enough. I recommend this one over the next Holiday Inn further north.”

“Our room was beautiful. It had a king size bed and the en-suite bathroom was a good size. The only downside was that the toilet flush handle was broken but still worked. It could have done with better lighting in the bathroom as you couldn’t see in the mirror very well. The room was immaculately clean and had a sofa and tv with easy to connect to WiFi. Personally I struggled with comfort of the bed as I found it too soft but it was dressed with clean sheets and had extra pillows in the wardrobe.……

“We had an amazing stay at the Manor House Hotel and Spa. We specifically wanted to stay in the historic house itself, and it did not disappoint. We stayed in Room 37, which, while traditional in style, was full of character—including a charming hidden bathroom that added to the unique experience. Every member of staff we encountered was exceptionally polite and friendly, making us feel truly welcome. The spa was clean and well-maintained, with robes provided upon entry and secure lockers with……
