“The room and house were wonderful. I do recommend small cork disks under the tubs clawfeet and the bedposts to protect the floor and less sound when the tub expands. There is left handle on the Southwest window that should have new screws applied as well. Overall the room/stay was fantastic! Though we did wonder if we could have bought bath bombs or bubblebath there because we had forgotten to buy some at Walgreens.”

“This was a cool place to stay. I loved the history of the building (former train station), which has been renovated/updated, but with a rustic touch that makes this place very unique. There is also a large deck area with lights, tables, a fire pit, and a sauna! Beautiful views of Lake Superior and Duluth. Walking distance from dozens of great restaurants and shops in Canel Park. ”

“Our room was immaculately clean, roomy, and with a balcony overlooking Lake Superior. I prefer a hot breakfast to their Scandanavian buffet, but the buffet is well done. The staff was friendly and helpful. I enthusiastically recommend this lodge.”

“Nice restored mansion with small, but comgortable rooms. Private bathroom & tub/shower combo, with small frig/freezer and coffee maker. A plus was the pot-belly gas stove for warming on cool Duluth mornings & evenings. Overall, very comfortable. Brule Retreat room was up one flight of stairs.”

“Location was ideal, parking was not as it’s extra per night. The unit was very clean except for some hair left on the shower wall. The main door to get in the building was sometimes a challenge to get the keypad to turn on. The view from the room was nice. ”
