“Location and layout was excellent.....our 2nd time staying here. However, while checking in, I noticed plungers in both bathrooms, right beside the toilets.....never a good sign but when I ended up sick with an intestinal virus, it was a nightmare. One toilet became clogged almost immediately and the sink I needed badly, would not drain. Good thing was that Tim, the host responded quickly and had a handy man to help in 20 minutes!!! “Our family vacation was almost ruined by poor property management! It was obvious that the unit was not fit for anyone to stay at! The water heater was removed from the wall and was sitting in the dining area leaking water. There was a dehumidifier that was left on top of the counter with a hose attached to it in the sink. The first person that we spoke to from Vacasa, the property management, was of no help. She told us that our unit and the unit below had water leakage! We asked to be moved to……

“Nicely appointed small apartment. One bedroom and a murphy bed in the den/living room. Keurig and coffee maker. Good Wifi. Parking for Sugar Mountain is very close. We were able to get a parking spot right near the lodge because it is so close. Owners are great and explained things well and timely. Thanks for the great stay!”

“The property was run down outside and inside. Not very clean stove top was greasy clumps of hair under the couch. Something splattered on the baseboards in the bathroom. Deck looked like it should be condemned. Pictures are deceiving of this property does not show true scope of size or condition. We were kept up all night by a barking dog and bumping noises in the unit above us. We checked out a day early and came home. ”

“A bit hard to find, glad it was daylight when we arrived! We were in the area to visit small towns of NC. Many not terribly far from this location! “This was a hard review to write. Technically, everything was presented as listed. However, there were no extra blankets and it took the unit a long time to warm up after arriving to thermostats set at 55, outdoor temp was 15 with an overnight low of 10. The beds only had sheets and a thin coverlet, burrr. The beds need some attention. The king mattress has obvious indentations , like you basically look at it made and see exactly where the “other” bodies laid lol. The bunk bed was so loud ,……

“This is a great property and a great location. The condo is as described and communication was excellent. The check in process was hassle free and I would definitely stay here again. Although we did not cook here the kitchen looked well equipped with everything needed. The beds were comfortable. There was a binder with all necessary instructions which was helpful and a list of things to do in the area. ”

“The best thing that I can say about this property is that owners apparently did some DIY improvements. The photos online are enticing but not exactly accurate. Hemlock Nob condominiums are average, old, and has an HOA which Vacasa would not give us any contact info to take care of outside problems or emergencies. We arrived about 4:30pm on our check-in date and found 6 inches to 1 foot of snow and ice on the 12 steps and front deck leading to the outside entrance door (which had 4 inch……
