“Lovely little cottage with a variety of goats, chickens, turkeys, and peacocks. Kim offered two bags of feed to hand out to the animals. Wifey and daughter loved it. Kim and husband were very responsive to our communications. We didn’t take in much of the area, we traveled for business. Nice mall and restaurants within driving distance, Roanoke about 15-20 minutes away. Overall it was a nice, cozy stay.”

“Came for the view, and didn't disappoint! The house was clean and comfortable. We swam and fished off the dock. The only drawback was lack of some back was the lack of some kitchen equipment.”

“Rose Cottage was perfect and a delightful place to stay with dogs. The house had everything we needed and was so organized and welcoming that we were quick to feel at home. Jessie was so kind when we met. The fire pit and axe throwing down by the creek was so refreshing and the dogs were wild about running about in the huge fenced in section of the yard. We also enjoyed the deck. We're eager to come back when visiting our family and hometown again soon. ”

“Cute as a button. Traveled with our 3 adult ish kids and had plenty of space to spread out and enjoy this beautiful area of Virginia. Suzanne is a wonderful host who has thought of every detail in the space. The horses in the back pasture are perfect view for starting and ending the day.”

“We had a great stay, nothing to complain about. The place was clean, well stocked kitchen (everything worked), comfy beds and very accommodating! We enjoyed some of the games/puzzles. Kayaks were fun. My only suggestion to owner/property manager is PLEASE remove the invasive vines covering the trees before it kills them. From the water, it definitely takes away from the beauty of this house compared to neighboring properties. Yes, there are a lot of stairs to the dock but we all managed……

“The Country Cottage was just perfect for us and our dogs. It is ideally located to serve as a launching point to enjoy the endless hiking options and activities in the area and the AT is in the backyard! The hosts are so nice and gracious and the incredibly clean cottage has everything you need and more. The grounds are beautiful and extremely quiet. Between the peacefulness, beauty and super comfortable bed, it was the best sleep we had in a long time. Cannot wait to return! ”
