“This hotel has gone from bad to worse over the years. Swimming pool in need of renovation Room not cleaned in 4 days No toilet paper Generally dirty and grubby The fridge we requested on arrival was delivered a day later, but they turned it of every day We were booked in for 15 nights but left after 4. Even this was a saga, does not take credit cards. On a positive note, breakfast was good . For your health and sanity avoid this hotel…”

“We had a great two weeks in the hotel with the staff being very flexible in accommodating us. The hotel is metres away from the beach, we had a sea view room with air conditioning which was very pleasant. However, the photos of the hotel on Expedia we saw are at least 20 years old and the hotel is no way a 4* hotel by western standards. There is no restaurant as part of the hotel any more, although there is a breakfast room which seems to get food from a neighbouring hotel. We were given……

“It is a place full of character. Delightful staff (limited English with some did not take away from their kindness and personal care). The building is all traditional Kerala, lots of dark wood, and a very amusing lift playing Tamil music. My balcony faced the fires of coconut palms, with birds occasionally calling out, but the dominant sound was the breakers as the beach is 20 metres down the lane. The room was spacious and comfortable: a bit old fashioned so this is not a modern smart……

“This property sits back from the beach about 100m, making it quiet and peaceful, with many birds singing in the morning. The bed was cozy and the bathroom was clean. This is a great stay for a budget hotel. Kovalum Beach is really scenic as well.”

“A great place to stay, really comfortable, big rooms. Food was good too, service very friendly. The road to get there is a bit rough and the tuktuk drivers know it is an upmarket resort so they try to squeeze you, make sure to negotiate hard.”
