“Comfortable accommodation and well worth the money. One thing to note is that the place is a bit away (30 min walk) from the main tourist area of Fort Kochi. Not a lot dining options around the hotel either. However, you can take a bus or a quick tuk tuk ride to Jewish town or fort Kochi beach area. Good AC and ceiling fan. Windows with nets to prevent mosquitoes, fairly quiet place. Had a good night's sleep without fail”
“My request for a ground-floor room (or) one close to the lift was not even sent to the hotel (according to the hotel manager). The property was not convenient for parking our car and there were too many mosquitoes.”
“Staff were great, food was good.
The bathroom was huge, with good toiletries. Beds not so comfy.
Location let it down, awful view of derelict buildings from room.”
“We loved our three days in Eighth Bastion. The room was beautiful with a pool-side balcony complete with roof fan. Nice pool with umbrella shading, food was great, esp. breakfast dosa & pancakes, location is excellent, and above all, the staff are super-friendly and helpful.”
“Lovely stay, conveniently located, with a really nice group of ladies at the helm. Great room, terrific breakfast, and a nice covered seating area on the roof. Pool not amazing, but that’s a quibble for an otherwise really nice experience in Kochi.”
“Large room with three separate beds but non-functional. Yes, I understand that they have a room available not meant to be a hotel room, but why not rent out to make money. AC and WiFi non functional. Dark closed room. Couldn’t open windows. Needed to keep lights on. Dirty unusable wooden cabinet with age-old newspapers strewn as shelf liner. Folks, clean up the cabinet, paint and use store bought regular shelf liner but never those dirty newspapers. No place to put luggage even for one person.……
“Outstanding property with immaculate service and comfort. Easily the best luxury stay in Cochin. Mr Ahilan and Ms Elizabeth were thorough professionals and made sure our stay was perfect. Highly recommend!”
“I booked this property because of "Neemrana" brand, expecting old world charm "experience" with every room being exquisitely designed. The room (Menezes) I was assigned was "OUTSIDE" the main hotel, literally almost at the road with traffic noise, with window not usable. There was no character to the room. The overall experience was like staying in a motel, not in a "Neemrana" branded hotel. I am very disappointed in Neemrana brand. ”
“Great Stay, do think they need to Europeanise some of their breakfast items, Love curry but Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner gets a bit too spicy for me. Friendly staff, great Massage organised by hotel. Pool area could do with bit of TLC and more sun loungers. The room was superb and comfortable big bed. They have the potential to really ramp this up, so not being critical just constructive.”
“I stayed here for a full week on an academic research trip, and had a wonderful experience. The people who run the hotel are incredibly kind and helpful with everything. It's fairly basic, but was nevertheless extremely comfortable. Everything was very clean, the wifi and air conditioning were consistent and reliable, and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was a huge plus. It is served at the neighboring restaurant, which offers a choice of Western breakfast (eggs and toast) or Indian……
“Great location, pool was excellent shape. Loved the wine bar and cafe. Room was very spacious and plenty of space. Staff was very friendly and anticipated every need. ”
“Friendly, helpful staff. Good location. Room had a good view, includes fridge, plenty of storage & quiet enough to sleep. Door has a peep hole cover and a strong door bolt in addition to the lock!
Please include small hand towels, hangers in cupboard. Pre-set TV channels & provide only 1 remote. No one has time to decipher TV settings. ”
“Everything was wonderful. It was clean, comfortable. Breakfast was great. Staff was kind and accommodating. Very convenient location within walking distance to many attractions. Highly recommended.”
