“Can’t say enough great things about this houseWhat a special ability to sit outside on the back porch and look at the bay”

“The property was exactly as advertised - cozy, historic, two bedroom home only minutes from downtown Mobile. Perfect spot to access a variety of activities in the greater Mobile area and walkable to restaurants on Dauphin Street. Well stocked kitchen was used often during our 6 night stay. The whole check-in/communication process was seamless. I would definitely stay there again when in the area. ”

“Thanks for the great stay at the Shadows. Everything you need is provided. Close to everything in the area. Good safe side walks to explore the neighborhood. I would suggest some sort of handle in the bath tub area for safety. A decorative handle could work. It does not need to be intrusive to the decorative theme. The bed in the room closest to the living room was most comfortable for us. We tried both of course. And the first room is more quiet as you can’t hear the ac compressor……

“ Conveniently located to restaurants around area. We liked its location because we were there for Mardi-Gras parades in Mobile, Daphne and Fairhope. The house was a good getaway from the traffic from parades. Comfortable. ”

“The check-in process was very easy! The home was clean and well-stocked. There were plenty of towels and other "creature comforts". This home is in a beautiful neighborhood not far from the bay.”

We especially enjoyed the main sunken living room with two comfortable sitting areas, and the kitchen with plenty of dishes, etc. for meals. The home is in a friendly neighborhood and is close to shopping and restaurants. Also, we appreciated the property manager, who was quick to respond to questions and help with a small issue we had. So glad we stayed at this home!”

“Internet service at the property was very poor. Could not get the property address to come up on GPS. Need a better method to get to address so people can locate/find it. The commodes on the main level are too low and need better flushing mechanism. Push button is okay, but you have to hold it forever it seems before it would flush. Other than these issues the stay was great!”

“We came down for dance convention. The house was good, but we had some concerns with the back bedroom and the side door. The back bedroom floor was cracked and gave in one spot when you walked on it. It felt very unstable. We did not allow any of our girls to stay in this room for fear of it braking and them falling through. We also had some concerns with the side door as the doorknob was very loose, to the point we were afraid it would fall off.”

“We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Retro Retreat! Our team was in town for a tennis tournament, and this charming home was the perfect base for our weekend getaway. The spacious rooms comfortably accommodated all eleven of us, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy their stay. One of the highlights was definitely the hot tub, which quickly became a cherished morning routine. Soaking in it while sipping coffee was a delightful way to start each day. The retro decor added a unique charm……

“EVERYTHING about this home was MAGICAL!! And, I stay in a lot of vacation rentals. The energy created by the thoughtful aesthetics chosen for every room…from the “five-butt” kitchen (meaning five people could easily work in there)…to the most comfortable bedrooms and living spaces…indoor and out…every convenience and creature-comfort was incorporated! We all wanted to live there permanently! And that cottage? Precious!! We also loved the neighborhood! Every house looks like it should be featured……
