“Har bott på The Trout flera gånger tidigare och har alltid varit väldigt nöjd. Rykten vi hörde på byn sa att det blivit ny ägare och att det inte var lika bra längre. När vi kom dit så höll man på med renovering och vi blev initialt placerade i ett rum som inte alls motsvarade våra förväntningar. Personalen var som alltid tidigare helt fantastisk och de löste ett annat rum till oss. “Beautiful scenic location. Hotel condition and all furnishing as new. Room extremely comfortable. Staff impeccable, not to be faulted. Food superb. Bar prices high. Lounge a bit bright…. Need table lamps rather than ceiling lights to give better ambience. Overall excellent.”

“Spent 2 peaceful nights at the Melbreak Hotel. It was really handy for exploring the Lake District which we were happy about, the only downside was the 4.30pm check in time which we thought was quite late but we still had a lovely time. All the staff we spoke to were friendly and chatty.”
