“The property provided us with a great location to visit local family while in the area. The house was nice and clean but needed a few minor repairs and updates, but overall a great place to relax. The house was located at the end of a street that provided direct beach access. The homeowner also had several beach style chairs available if needed. This was great. “Great location, convenient to the beach, restaurants, shopping, and the airport. The beach was very nice and not crowded even on Labor Day weekend. My only comments would be that the main bath shower and kitchen sink faucet did not have enough water flow, and the stairs creaked limiting going downstairs for a midnight snack without alerting everyone else. ”

“It was very awesome to stay in this House! We were 4 adults and one child and we had more than enough Space. The house itself is very pretty and it was clean. A few things were broken but it was okay. The only thing that was a little hard to get used to, is that is in a very much used road. But being on the beach in 2 minutes makes it easy to Look over it! “This was a great space for our family to take a quick trip before heading back to school! We had six teenagers and seven adults and there was plenty of room for everyone! The beach was great, and only a hop, skip, and jump from the house. Close to grocery stores, Walmart, and Target. And we found an amazing seafood house, Surf Rider, just down the road at the marina. Would definitely stay again!”

“Perfect size for two people. If the weather had cooperated I would have loved to try the spacious outdoor shower. Maybe the next time. The walk to the beach is as listed. However, we drove and parked along a side street due to the heat, to shorten the walk. Norfolk is an easy drive and several other tourist stops are within a couple hours drive. ”

“Absolutely Horrible – Do Not Stay Here This property should not be listed for rent. When we arrived, it looked abandoned—broken windows on the ground floor, no exterior lighting (very unsafe at night), and the key was difficult to retrieve from the lockbox. As soon as we entered, we were hit with a musty, stale odor that made the entire place feel like a haunted house. The ground-floor bathroom door literally fell off the hinges when opened. That bathroom also flooded, making it unusable.……

"The property itself is quite good—newly renovated facilities, a convenient location, and a nice free breakfast. It’s easy to see why it has a 9.0 rating and overall, it’s worth it. However, I was assigned a room right next to the ice machine and emergency exit. I checked in late at night and didn’t realize the potential for noise. Unfortunately, the receptionist didn’t mention anything about it, even though I was traveling with kids. Starting as early as 6 a.m., guests began walking around for breakfast, some trying to open the emergency exit—which triggered a loud alarm. The real issue started after 7 a.m, when the emergency exit began functioning as a regular door. Guests continuously came in and out, causing the door to slam shut every 2–3 minutes. The loud banging made it impossible to rest. It was truly exhausting and disrupted our rest completely. Getting a good night’s sleep is one of the main reasons to stay at a nice hotel, and sadly, that didn’t happen here. All in all, this property is ok—but if you're assigned room 126, 128, or any room near the emergency exit, request a room change to avoid a similar experience. "
