“It is really close to the Interstate, but is quiet. It is an old motel. Bed was comfy. They were talking about having mushroom tea in the corridor. The room was clean. The corridors smelled weirdly. ”

“The Rustic Rook Resort is a fabulous new addition to the Yurt/Bin wave of alternative to hotel stays. It is just a few miles from the Great Sand Dunes National Park that is simply awe inspiring and has fabulous sledding on the Dunes for the entire family. Excellent dining is about 20 minutes away in downtown Alamosa. The stars at night are incredible. We stayed in a Bin, which was less rustic than the name would imply. It was perfect for my husband and I, and our dog. We wouldn't hesitate……

“I would have given this 5 stars but there was a full-size fridge in our unit & it was so loud! I've stayed in multiple other hotel/motels with loud mini fridges but this one was certainly the loudest. I love having a fridge & microwave & this was a mini kitchen. The bathroom was big. The mattress must have been the typical spring type - bouncy. The view was mostly of other buildings. So close to coffee shops & restaurants. Good for the price.”

“The house is so beautiful with great views. My kids saw deer each morning and were so excited. Everything is super clean and orderly. Very well maintained property. We almost felt like we were the first ones staying there, nothing looks used. They had everything you could need for a weekend stay!”

“We had a lovely time at this cabin. Nicely decorated with everything you need. Comfortable stay.”

“We could not get a hold of host for keyless access and to talk about concerns we had. I sent multiple emails and called him several times and left voicemails. He called us 30 minutes before our checkin saying he had never received anything from me. We ended up staying at a hotel and didn’t receive our full refund.”

“It is a journey to get here from TX, but it was exactly what we needed. Fresh air, nature, and wildlife abound. We awoke to chipmunks chasing each other and then off to the Great Sand Dunes and Zapata Falls. It ate up a whole day with hiking and sand. We came back at sunset and saw 2 elk and 20 deer. It was such a great experience.”

“It's a rare treat to be on acres of land and open space such that surrounds this home. More than anything, the house has a peaceful, welcoming feel. Not too fancy schmancy, but not run down. It was very clean, which is often a wild card with short rentals. I enjoyed the unimpeded views of the Sangre de Cristos as well as the range on the other side of the valley. Crestone has not one but two grocery stores, and a hardware store! I guess my only warning is: Bring your own honey. Of the spices and……

“This is literally the nicest most upscale VRBO I have stayed in, impeccably decorated, clean, new, fresh, bright but cozy. All the feels on this one. Beds were firm. This is my #1 favorite rental of all times. The scenery is unbelievable, 100% clear wide open view of the mountains. Do not delay.........”
