“Horrible run down two storey family bungalow. Everything was broken! Dangerous ledder to climb to the upper floor. stayed one night and it was the worst on our 2 month Bali trip. Wanted to leave the same day but the manager refused to refund the money so we were forced to stay. Luckily we only booked 1 night. The night we couldn't sleep as the room has no windows and no soundproof. you can hear talking staff until midnight as if they were staying in your room. It was super hot upstairs becasue……

“I stayed in the Bamboo section for 3 nights which is next door to the Bungalows section. The Bamboo rooms are cheaper with rooms being basic - but this is how they are advertised. Like much accommodation in this part of Gili T, the call to prayer from the Mosque is quite loud and starts early (for my stay 4:40am). In the area there are plenty of places to eat, a nearby laundry, the beach is about a 5 min walk away. The front porch was lovely in the morning having the included breakfast……

“This hostel was really nice, from the reception to the room to the breakfast , all very nice. I stayed for 5 nights , the first couple nights I stayed in the deluxe room and the last 3 in a standard double. I had planned on hotel hopping around the island but Gili Buana was so relaxed I was happy to stay put. As A solo traveler I felt very welcome. Aisje the manager was an amazing hostess, she invited me for sunset and dinner a couple nights which was lovely. I highly recommend this hostel. ”
