“ Staff very friendly and friendly with each other, menu very poor, food apart from lobster was very good. Dining was very expensive for what you got. Cleanliness in hotel was very good, bedroom not so, went to make a coffee only to find the kettle disgusting, the spout was even full of dried sediment. Stayed here 20 months ago and I'm afraid the hotel has gone down and the prices up. Don't think it should be classed as five star anymore. Which is a shame because it is a beautiful place.”

“verything was just right with the room and service, except disturbing noise for the band performance from the bar till 12:30 midnight .It was a very popular bar down down stairs wih crowds till then. cannot sleep before that.”

“The hotel itself is quite nice, although a little past its glory. The location is perfect for a couple of days in Aberdeen, and the afternoon tea is to be recommended. Our room had no view, and the lack of hot water made our stay a little less comfortable than it should have. When we addressed it we were told that the hot water system was down, and due to be repaired the day we checked out. They told us that our last day was the first with no hot water, but I told them it was both our days at……

“I had a quick overnighter at the Great Western. Seems to be a good and conveniently located hotel. I was able to park (fee free!). Just a 10 minute walk to Aberdeen High Street. The room was clean, had a comfortable bed and good heating. I was in and out with no issues.”
