“An enjoyable stay, use of the spa being free as a guest, 2 hour booking having the spa to ourselves was extra special, weather this be the same if hotel was busy, spa pool was quite small would have been quite full. Staff friendly and courteous. Highly recommend the Coctails, a little pricy, reduce to £9 as £13 bit steep, we would have had more.! We ate in the restaurant great choices nicly presented. £9 for a dessert again a little pricy. ”

“WHAT A FIND!!!! A real gem After being let down with our original booking, we found the Black Lion Hotel. It's set in a small, quiet village near the river. We had a superb evening meal, the pub was busy in both the bar and restaurant area all evening, which is always a good sign.... the food was superb, service was excellent The room we stayed in was quiet, clean, the bathroom was a good size, the bed was comfy. The breakfast in the morning was superb quality made from local produce. ……

“I stayed for one nite in room 3 top floor. It’s situated at rear so away from Main Street at front , therefore so quiet . Lovely room , my gut feeling is the breakfast would be great , but I had to leave early so unfortunately can’t comment . Parking for my motorbike was easy and also at rear. “Booked this hotel for a weekend due to location to Watkin Path. Staff so kind & helpful, Rooms clean & tidy with ensuite bathrooms including baths in two out of 3 rooms booked. Use of lift to rooms. Breakfast selection plentiful and hot, evening meals superb & well priced.
