The apartment was spacious, impeccably clean, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is superb - it's just a 2-minute walk across the road to the lake, yet the motel itself is very quiet and peaceful, away from the crowds at the lakeside. “My wife and I stayed three nights at the Whakaipo Lodge as part of a 12 day NZ vacation. We have traveled to many countries and stayed and some wonderful venues. My wife and I agree that Whakapio Lodge ranks as our favorite. Angie and Garth are amazing hosts. The room we had was spacious, private, modern, comfortable and spotlessly clean.
