“We recently stayed here for a family retreat with 20 people, ranging from adults to teenagers, kids, and even infants. The house exceeded our expectations in every way. It’s absolutely beautiful, well-maintained, and offers activities for all ages. The kids especially loved the ninja challenge course, while we all enjoyed the canoeing and kayaking—there were more than enough kayaks for everyone! Carrie was fantastic, regularly checking in to see if we needed anything and always responding……

“The Maplewood Lakehouse is the PERFECT spot to gather with friends and family! The home itself is huge and inviting, but it's location to the town of Newport for gas, groceries, and take-out make it really stand out. This home has SO many bedrooms to accomodate our large group. We really appreciated having spaces to both be together (multiple living rooms, the game room/garage, and the kitchen/dining spaces) as well as the many bedrooms to have quiet space to recharge as well. “We loved our vacation at Camp Baumann. The house was spacious and roomy yet cozy at the same time. So fun and unique and comfy spots for the whole family inside and outside on the multiple decks and docks. Loved the kayak and paddle boards, hot tub, fire pit - you name it. Steve was an excellent host. He was very responsive to my many questions and requests for recommendations. All 11 of us had a great time. ”

“The place was dirty. Went to the basement to check out the laundry room and found standing water because the sub pump was broken, 3 full piles of bedding in and on the washer and dryer. This led me to believe the sheets on the bed had not been washed. The stove top was dirty, dishes in the dishwasher, dirt in between the cushions of the couch. There were no towels, few electrical outlets. We stayed only one night because it was too late to find another alternative. On the plus side the owner……

“My brother and I were traveling for our Uncle's funeral. We were thrilled to find the Perkins House was available. The house reminded us of our grandparents house in Harrison, ME. It brought us back in time to days of our childhood. I definitely want to return with my family to enjoy the Lakewood Theatre and the lake.”

Screened in porch with a lakeside view is the perfect place to enjoy relaxing times outside free from bugs. The kayaks and paddle boards allow for comfortable exploring of the majestic Whitstone lake. Make dinner in the beautiful open kitchen or grill on the barbecue downstairs. And the fire pit is the perfect place for evening gatherings. A+++”
