“Things we really liked: The location was convenient and very walkable to Japantown and downtown SJ. We appreciated the keurig coffee in the room, and bottled water tank near the shared kitchen where we could refill our water bottles. The bed was comfortable. Very short wait for hot water in the shower and sinks to start up. The owners were very quick and responsive to messages sent through the app. Beautiful succulents in the back yard. We also appreciated the free street parking. However, it’s……

“Plenty of room and good setup for a work trip. Close enough to downtown to make getting to convention center an easy uber or bike ride. Great backyard to chill out in. And waaaay cheaper than a downtown hotel!”

“We had a wonderful time; there were 12 of us; friends and families; it was spacious enough to have separation when we needed it and nice gathering areas when we wanted. The host responded very quickly to every single question. Everyone was impressed when they entered the house. ”

“We liked the neighborhood itself, but the house was not to our liking. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. It does not have central heat and air. When you run a few items like TV, heater/console and lights, the breaker would trip. When running my hairdryer and having lights on, the breaker would trip. Kinda scary with no lights on and not safe. We didn't stay the second night we paid for.”

“We had a good time in downtown San Jose. The neighborhood was quiet, with a school and community center nearby and a nice Mexican bakery truck a short distance walk away. The home had two spacious bedrooms and a nice living area that we could relax in after hiking. Would visit again!”

This spot is especially good for folks who need to work on the road. I particularly enjoyed having the extra monitor. This is an older house and comes with the charms of an older house, which I prefer over a chain hotel any day. ”
