“We loved staying in a house built in the 1600s! It was like getting to sleep in a museum rather than a hotel. Also - the Continental Breakfast was more than we expected! Beyond a few kinds of breakfast bread and a toaster, there was also whipped cream cheese, hard-boiled eggs, and a couple types of fresh fruit. We were very pleased. There were only a couple drawbacks (which would NOT keep me from recommending the experience): As no one works a front desk, you have to repeatedly call to ask……

“Great location and wonderful host”

“Run by the kindest people (and friendliest cats!) in all of Salem, and could not possibly be more centrally located! You can walk everywhere from here, and you have a front row seat to any events in the square - it's literally right across the street. Parking in Salem is at a premium, and we are driving a crew cab truck to make it even worse, but Matt went WELL above and beyond to make sure we got a great spot. Do note - it's a lovely old house, but like most old houses, it does have steps, ……

“This place was so clean, safe, and wonderful in all aspects. Highly recommended. Views out back of beautiful gardens and Marsh. There was a great assortment of snacks, movies, games, and books.Host family lives here and were so pleasant and welcoming. Book this listing today! You wont be disappointed. ”

“This was a room in a shared bed and breakfast. The entire house was beautiful, clean, and updated just enough to be comfortable in an old house. I would 100% stay here again!”

“As an attendee to PAX East since 2013, I mostly used nearby hotels, but this year we looked into other kinds of lodgings, and this one appeared as close enough and well furnished, for cheaper than the 4 nights at the hotel.It was a great experience, clean room, close to several groceries, so the kitchen was well used. Comfortable beds as well, it was a great experience that we will be looking into in the next years again!”

“Had a wonderful stay, Elizabeth is a fantastic hostess, chef, conversationalist and all around humanitarian. Loved all the extra touches you don't get in a hotel, hot tea, organic apples, exquisite soaps, fine books and chimes from antique clocks. I would highly recommend Elizabeth's Tavern to anyone who is looking to experience an immersive "colonial feel" with all the comforts of modern day living.”
