We had to leave the hotel early next morning before kitchen opened but staff left us breakfast (cereals, yogurt etc) out for us which was really appreciated. Also made us sandwiches to take with us. Pub/bar and food was really good. Cosy. ”

“This is the second time we've stayed at the Mason Freehouse, it was lovely the first time we stayed, which made us keen to return. Although it is now under new management, it's clear that the lovely, friendly, warm welcoming atmosphere is something the staff are keen to retain. We're looking forward to coming back and staying again, as the plans for new menus sound fantastic. Room sizes and facilities are very adequate for a short stay. “The stag were extremely welcoming, warm and friendly. The room was a very good size with a modern en-suite bathroom. The evening meal menu had a varied selection for all tastes and the quality of food was excellent, being very well cooked and presented. Breakfast was high quality local produce with a large serving. Overall we had a fantastic stay and great nights sleep with a large high quality mattress and comfortable pillows. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue and we would……

“Stayed here in 2023 and excellent once again. Lovely room 1 Pen-y-gent the walk in shower i wish i could take home. Plenty of tea coffee in room and toiletries. Had steak and ale pie with veg and chips. Big chunks of tender meat in luscious gravy, chips were home made and not the usual frozen ones! Meal was excellent. Lovely fire in bar which was really welcoming on such a bad day Nice breakfast. Great you could check in after 2pm as the weather was awful out and could check out at 11……

“Lovely stay, the staff are so friendly and cannot do enough for you. Location is great right in town centre. Food was excellent. The room was very clean and a good size shower just a shame the water was a bit lukewarm but maybe as it was the furthest room. Would definitely recommend a stay. ”
