“The initial impression was very good and everything was clean and comfortable, but some small things were irritating. There was only poor quality instant coffee in the room and no herbal teas (would have liked peppermint and/or camomile at least). There were no signs to the pool (and regrettably I didn’t get round to asking). I ate in the bar once but was disappointed. The fish pie was stodgy - more mash than fish or sauce - and nowhere near enough vegetables. There were very few TV……

“I had a choice of hotels in Leeds or the Black Horse. I'm so glad I chose the latter. Some extra driving, but great to be in a historic building in a historic area, and so close to the motorway and service station.”

“The hotel had a musty smell all the way through it. The room had very out of date decor, peeling cover of the dressing table. Jacuzzi bath which did not work. ”

“Really enjoyed our relaxing stay. Lots of attention to detail. Very private spot. Weather was hot so we enjoyed the very comfy sunbeds and were able to eat outside, enjoying the afternoon/evening sunshine. The hosts had provided a large fan in the room, which was most welcome. Plenty of drinks in the fridge and various snacks in the room (crisps/chocolate) Just bring your own food. Hosts are on hand if you have any issues. We enjoyed walking along the canal & exploring Cromwell Bottom……
