“Was good value for money. Conveniently situated for visiting Renishaw Hall wine tasting and gardens . Comfy bed, and not a bad size bathroom. Rain shower but no hairdryer. The food in the restaurant was really good, not that quick to appear but it was worth the wait. We didn’t like being so close to the road though.We couldn’t get the window to close properly so that it made it noisier once the traffic started in the morning.”

“There is a very good service. Although my original room has no electricity, they let me have a suite room. Their cooked breakfast is very delicious, especially the smoked salmon.”

“Lovely friendly place to stay ,staff were amazing and couldnt be more helpful.Only downfall was they did not do food ,we had a busy schedule and had to go out very early for breakfast ,no private parking but could park on street at side of property also no lifts so no good to people who are disabled”

“Beautiful old hotel in superb grounds. My 3rd visit. It’s dog friendly which is essential for me. Staff very friendly especially Angela who made such a fuss of our boy. Its excellent position means a great spot for beautiful dog walks, literally across the road. However I must comment on the room. It was absolutely boiling hot in there, totally unacceptable and uncomfortable, we were given a fan which helped a bit. One of the lights on the wall wasn’t working which made the room very dark. “After I accidentally left the hotel key in my room, I was locked out when I arrived back after 11pm. Fortunately there was a number on door, and after calling I was back in the room within a few minutes without any hassle. It was much appreciated. ”
