“Stayed at the Light Horse Inn for two nights. Absolutely loved it. You have to manage expectations because this isn't an ultra modern hotel with a restaurant, bar workout facilities, etc. However if you love history, antiques and the charm of a very unique stay, Light Horse Inn is for you. The room was very large and decorated with timeless antiques. They are very responsive via text for any questions, concerns. “My boyfriend and I enjoyed this property a lot. It was clean and had great amenities. I wasn’t used to the ease at which the bugs got in (this is not the owners fault, just part of being in the woods) and the stone steps from the driveway to the actual steps are not optimal, in my opinion. If someone needs a walker or has a wheelchair I do not think I would select this property for that reason alone. The steps upstairs to the loft also made us nervous (boyfriend is a bodybuilder, getting 250……

“Enjoyed a 2 nite stay here while attending CATF theatre festival in Shepherdstown. Enjoyed the outdoor hottub after biking on C&O Canal towpath, and fantastic country breakfasts. Views to the west over Antietam battlefields are spectacular! Hosts couldn’t have been more welcoming, including the talking parrot! ”
