“Lovely looking hotel in a great location for the Peak District. Nice, clean and vibrant colours everywhere. Room was comfortable (no air con though, just a desk fan) with a nice colour scheme, lots of pillows and nice touches. Bar/restaurant is bright, food was good (calling it a continental breakfast is a bit of a stretch). Some of the staff could do with smiling more and actually show some enthusiasm to the guests (not all, some was pleasant) ”

“Very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Great spacious family room, clean and comfortable, with a lovely view from the window. Nice quiet location with places to eat in the evening a short walk away. Breakfast was plentiful and very good. Would definitely recommend.”

“Great service, very kind and friendly check in. The rooms are simple and you have to pay for the towels, but then again- the price of accommodation definitely justifies the payment for extras. Has a bar, open until 11pm. And it is genuinely all you need for a night stay. Also offers breakfast, full english for £9.99. And it is perfectly located for the Monsal Trail and ither walks.”

“We stayed at the Pilsley Inn in order to visit Chatsworth House. The inn is walking distance from the farm shop and from the house itself. Dinner and breakfast were delicious and the staff took great care of us.”

“this is a lovely old pub/hotel deep in the Derbyshire hills, really convenient for Bakewell/Castleton & Buxton touring. Lovely people, could not be more accommodating”

“This is an old building so naturally it’s a little noisy as people go to their rooms or use their bathrooms but I couldn’t hear the pub downstairs at all. The owners were friendly and served up a fantastic breakfast. Parking is limited so I had to use the pay and display round the back on the second night but there were plenty of spaces there and it wasn’t expensive. This was a great base to visit the local village and hiking in the area which was the reason for my visit - to climb Kinder Scout……

“Owners and staff were welcoming and the room was spacious, full facilities, warm. Approx 9 miles from Buxton, a rural but convenient for access. Adjacent to a main road, but no disturbances for sleep with the rooms to the rear of the pub. Enjoyed the well presented food. Lovely fish & chips. Slight issue over lasagne, quickly remedied/replaced. Excellent cooked breakfast. Good quality ingredients. Very good value, would recommend and probably return if in area again.”
