I read some of the comments about five star hotel in previous reviews while the hotel itself may not be a five-star the staff and the service is easily five-star… I laugh at some of the comments…. if you want little slippers and matching housecoat, look like a prince and princess, then go to Palace… the meals were suburban with the first class chef from Brazil… when I came to the restaurant bar you couldn’t want more for service and quality…. awesome place for……

“Its a great experience living in the barrel. Every customer staying there include one wine tasting tour, understand more about Port wine. However, moving there or other spots might possibly need to drive. No public transport reaching the area.”

“Casa de Canilhas is the most beautiful property. Staying here was like a dream. The view of the Douro valley & river are breathtaking. The rooms have a rustic vineyard feel, but are beautifully upgraded with modern standards. The infinity pool was perfect temperature & overlooking the valley of grape vines. The daily breakfast was delicious and so fresh. More than enough. the staff was very pleasant & have the property in pristine condition and well maintained. I can’t wait to come back. ”
