“Very good room, clean, big and the appliances were great. Personnel very nice too. ”

“Booked the room in February. After an 80 bicycle ride in mixed weather conditions, i was delighted to arrive at the hotel. Not delighted to find it locked. Tourist centre was kind enough to contact the owner that said that it was closed for renovations. Some kind of notice would be expected.”

“It’s located in the mountain side, breakfast with cold cut, eggs and bacon with the valley view. Staffs were nice and helpful. Recommend to all travellers who plan for Douro area.”

“The vineyard is truly beautiful. The scenery is outstanding and really adds the the luxurious feeling of this hotel. The bed was enormous, it was like having a whole double bed each. The food selection on breakfast and evening was good and not overly expensive. The only complaint would be the wait time on drinks by the pool, there was only one staff member to make drinks and sort food orders so we were often waiting a long time for drinks. This was pacified by having two pools to cool off in and……

“The property is so tranquil and relaxing with beautiful views of the valley & river. The hosts Paul & Valeria made us feel so welcome. Very friendly and helpful with all our needs. With only 4 rooms currently, the place is intimate and at times all to yourself. Beautiful infinity pool, wood burning hot tub & sauna all with outstanding views. I would love to return when everything is in bloom. Highly recommend Quinta de Raj!! ”

“A definite must stay if you are visiting the Duoro Valley. It is a small slice of paradise once you enter the red door. Manuel was so kind and helpful. The wine paired dinner (for a cost) was delicious and very informative. Highly recommend you book here. ”
