“Very pleasant stay in amazing looking hotel, takes you back to Tudor. times. Well situated for accessing all of Ludow, 5 min walk to Ludlow Castle - well worth a visit- & the River Teme. Gloriously sunny few days certainly helped!”

“Fantastic hotel in a very peaceful setting with great views of Ludlow castle and the gorgeous countryside. Had a beautiful room with views of the castle. Staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a delicious breakfast served in the dining room with beautiful countryside views. Ludlow town is within easy reach on foot, crossing over the river before climbing the hill alongside the castle. Would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel.”

“We had a fabulous stay at The Riverside. We stayed in one of the Garden rooms which was perfect in every way with thoughtful details, such as a torch to walk back with after dinner, and fresh milk in our fridge for tea/coffee. What really impressed was the service we received from the staff. Even though the bar and restaurant were busy, the manager and his brilliant young team looked after us so well . We will definitely return! ”

“An excellent experience, the room was quiet and the windows opened fully to let in fresh air on a warm evening The staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was delicious including the generous cooked breakfast that was included in the charge for the stay. I would happily use Salwey Arms again.”

“Really nice pub, convenient for Ludlow and the Shropshire Hills. Winter weekend break for us, nice big clean quiet room, comfy bed, plenty of space and large bathroom. All the staff very friendly and efficient, had a nice meal there - steak well cooked - and the breakfast was tasty, good quality ingredients and served quickly and with a smile. The bar area was nice, log fire burning and lots of locals in there. One negative was the water temp in the shower - I imagine as it’s an old……

“A lovely old building with uneven floors and stairs that made walking around funny! Room was comfortable and clean, had everything we needed. Breakfast was nice as was the owner. No complaints, except perhaps the limited ale/beer - could have had more variety of Hobson or other local breweries than lager/cider which meant we only stayed for one pint, before finding a pub that had beer we enjoyed. Shame really as it was a lovely old pub”

“There was no TV in the room, complained and it arrived at 9pm when I was getting in bed. No chair or desk (I was on business and need these items). Black mould wound window frames and excessive dust on shower extractor fan and above the curtain rail. The bed was like sleeping on a bag of rocks, very poor quality mattress. think I have been generous a 2 stars. A lot of money for not alot!”
