“I booked this property for a 3-day weekend, as I was in need of a change of scenery to inspire me to do some writing projects I've been putting off. It was absolutely perfect for my purposes. I arrived on Thursday evening, parked my car in the designated spot, and didn't move it until I checked out on Sunday. “First time in Mystic, CT, the Arden House was the perfect location for our two night visit. Surrounded by a local marina, it was a short relaxing walk to Downtown Mystic for a variety of shops, restaurants and of course, the famous Mystic Pizza shop! Lovely picture opportunity while on the nearby bridge linking two towns. Our full day in the area took us to Mystic Seaport Museum and Olde Mystic Village both less than 10 minutes away by car with free parking. The Arden House was comfortable,……

“The property was very clean, comfortable and inviting. We had a bit of difficulty getting the door to unlock initially, though the owner was extremely quick in his communication and gave us an immediate solution, with no further issues. The house was close to everything. Parking was a bit tight, as two cars share one driveway but we made it work. Street parking was suggested but we didn't really see anywhere on the street to park. Kitchen had everything we needed and beds were comfortable.……

“This house was a great location, but I thought the yeard would be better fenced-in for our dog based on the photos, but it really is not fenced in: there are multiple areas that even large dogs could get out. This was a major reason why I selected this house over others. So we had to walk her every time we let her out, and then almost everyone's grass (including the house we were staying in) had signs saying not to let your dogs or children walk on the grass due to recent pesticide placement.……

"As an experienced traveler, I have to rate this La Quinta a ONE out of Five. The facility is too old to use. To open the door, you need to insert the card key dozens of times. The hall way is not flat, slightly uphill or downhill. The drain of the tub is only half-working. When you take shower your feet are in the water. Basin is cracked and glued. AC sound wakes you up every time when it starts. Breakfast is ok, but lack of food after 8:50, it says that the time of breakfast is 6:30 to 9:30. Parking is free and safe, which is only thing make my thumb up. Overall, with $140 per night price, I must say, I was very disappointed by this hotel!!! By the way, the other La Quinta hotels I have lived in are very good."
