We stayed at The Port William Friday and Saturday night in January. We choose this place due to its location to the coast and its positioning right at the side of Trebarwith Beach and the promise of a sea view and relaxing atmosphere. We were not disappointed! This is a lovely spot right on the SW Coast Path and only a few miles walk into Tintagel. The rooms were small but cosy and more than adequate for our stay. “Our trip to this hotel was overall a pleasant experience, however a couple of items regarding this hotel need to be addressed.
1. The carpets areceorn and dirty, they need changing or at the very least cleaning.
2. The hot water in the shower takes too long to heat up (approximately a minutes)
3. The shower needs updating as the tiles are dirty and the sealant needs replacement.
4. On the plus side, excellent food, courteous service from the staff, and good atmosphere. The room we were……
“The room was mind blowing, very grand, warm and comfortable. Down side was the toilet, shower cupboard that was a poor retro fit in the corner. Although it was spotlessly clean it was just like a plastic cupboard, not in keeping with the rest of the room. very tacky and small.
We had to complain two nights about the noise from the room above. Sounded like a kids party or playground that continued after midnight when enough was enough. The night staff did stop it promptly.
