“The nicest stay my wife and I encountered during our ten day tour of Scotland. Lochaline is a place of stunning beauty just a short ferry ride from the Isle of Mull. Our hosts were very friendly and accommodating preparing delicious breakfasts and dinners every day. Our room had an incredible view of the inland sea, mountains and 700 year old castle ruins. When upon our departure we discovered a flat tire on our vehicle, our hosts helped us by contacting an area garage and gave us the tools……

“The proprietress, Caroline, was welcoming and helpful. She had thoughtfully provided snacks and breakfast foods / drinks for the room. The room was cozy, clean, and quiet. We had a beautiful view during our walk down to Oban town, caught a gorgeous sunset, and enjoyed dinner at the Oban Brasserie (in the Perle Oban hotel). Thank you for a lovely stay!”

“Das Hotel liegt wunderbar am Loch Melfort. Zu den Highlights gehört noch das Essen, dessen Preis auch für schottische Verhältnisse eher gehoben ist. Das Hotel selbst ist ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Wir hatten ein Superiorzimmer mit Meerblick im Anbau gebucht. Bauweise des Anbaus und Ausstattung des Zimmers sind als eher einfach zu bezeichnen. Insgesamt waren wir angesichts der hervorragenden Bewertung für das Hotel doch ziemlich enttäuscht. ”

“The room was good with a large bathroom and perfectly acceptable. But it wasn't great. No chairs to sit in, only window seats which were uncomfortable. We were in room 1, right by the front door so rather noisy until the restaurant closed and our window (with a great view) was by the front door, so it felt a bit like being in a goldfish bowl. Would I stay again? Maybe, it was OK, just not great.”

“The Whisky Vaults is a good choice for accommodations in Oban. It is convenient to restaurants, trains and ferries. Rooms are cozy and beds are comfortable. The building is historic and interesting. The staff is friendly and helpful. Totally charming overall. (Note no elevator but staff will help with luggage.)”

“A nice hotel adjacent to the main road by Connell Bridge. We had room 8, which was a sea view room without a balcony. The room was very nice. All was very clean and looked new. The shower was excellent. A negative point is that the sun shines into the hotel all afternoon, so our room was extremely hot. The single window opens about 3 inches only. They provide a small fan but this is very ineffective. They should shut the blinds before guests arrive in sunny weather. We arrived about 5pm. Car……
