“Over price, facilities too old”

“Serene. Castle, rooms, and surrounding grounds were beautiful. We slept with window open since it was warmer than normal for May, and it was quiet and peaceful. Staff in restaurant were attentive and helped me navigate my gluten and dairy restrictions. Walking paths around property were great. Will definetly stay again if in the area. ”

“Rothesay was a revelation. We were put off by the ferry access on our upward journey but shouldn't have been. The hotel has wonderful views and is situated within easy walking distance along a promenade of interesting victorian hotels/apartments to a vibrant town centre. we were very lucky with the weather and loved everything about the hotel and the town.”

“This is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. The condition of the room was extremely poor and absolutely not worth the price. What was most unacceptable was that the room I was given looked nothing like the photos shown on the booking website. Instead of a standard room on the main floors, I was placed in one of two attic rooms, which were dark, cramped, and completely unsuitable for use as hotel accommodation. The wardrobe was old, dirty, and poorly maintained, with doors that……

“This is an old hotel. It's used by tour groups. That tells you what to expect. Yes, it is a bit dated but the rooms are fine and the staff are absolutely lovely. Breakfast is good and generous. Oban is full of very expensive hotel rooms in the season and I was very happy with the rate Expedia gave me. It's right by the bus and train stations and very near the ferries. It's fine and I'd stay again ”
