“This is a beautiful guest house that is very close to the railway station and the waterfront. Ferries go to Great Cumbrae regularly where there are lovely walks and scenery. The room although small had everything you need. The shower was shared with another room but that was no problem. The breakfast was wonderful, fresh fruit, homemade bread, cooked breakfast. Keith was very welcoming and made you feel at home. Definitely would recommend. ”

“I have rarely used exceptional to review a hotel but the Kames was. We travelled here from New Zealand on holiday and we only had one night but it was exceptional. The restaurant menu is top class, the range on the menu was great and seriously 10/10. I had locally free dived seared scallops from the loch, I had the slow roasted goat shank with lentils - exceptional, and we shared a lemon tart with fresh berries. Beautiful old building which maintains a lot of its periodic charm and features but our room was very modern, spacious, clean and comfortable.
