“Our experience was really great (clean/tidy room, check in staff was friendly and helpful) until the end of our stay. The housekeeper on the day of check out was upset with his co workers (something he stated himself) and was very rude and uptight about our check out time which was already handled by the check in/counter staff.”

“Older but clean; we stayed here for the night that we were in Alpena. It was during winter; very pleased that the room temperature wasn't freezing cold when we checked in. Parking lot and walk ways were cleared, salted not slippery. We'd definitely stay at this Ma&Pop lodge again.”

“The place we stayed at was fantastic. I spent the weekend there with five of my friends and it was a great experience. We had plenty of room to sleep with the two king beds, three twin beds, a futon and a couch. The kitchen was very convenient for when we got hungry and didn’t want to leave the house. Lou, the person we rented the house from, made the stay a good one. He gave me his personal cell number and was very flexible with our check in and check out time. He also gave us a house tour and……

“Island Cove was perfect for our family vacation. The house fit the six of us (plus two infants and two dogs) comfortably, and everyone loved spending time at the beach, on the pontoon boat, and playing yard games. The check in and check out procedures were simple. It's so rare to find a place like this that ticks all the boxes - great location, easy rental experience, plenty of amenities, and the ability to bring the dogs along for the fun! We'll definitely rent again.”

The big picture windows and HUGE porch were a highlight of the trip to take in the peaceful sights and sounds of the river.”
