“The locale is absolutely beautiful and private, with a lovely long rocky beach. I recommend bringing binoculars to view the many and various seabirds and seals, especially upon return to the abode; So many wonderful picture windows. While the desire for security is understandable in this secluded place, and presence of cameras was divulged in the profile, in reality I personally felt uncomfortable with them (I’m a Mainer). “The moment we walked in we were overwhelmed by the nostalgic memories of camping trips from our youth. The cabin, situated on a peaceful lake and in a fairy-woodland, gently persuades one to thoroughly release every stress. The cabin itself is well-stocked and smells of fresh pine. Our family was blessed beyond measure by our stay. Also, Heidi and her family are wonderful people! ”

“This is a rustic, true off-grid stay. The property is absolutely stunning and the new owners clearly care about the camp itself and are working to to update and refresh it a bit. I did have a bit of trouble finding it and due to the lack of pics and directions when I booked, it just took a bit longer. I believe that has been updated. Garrett was great, super friendly and had great communication. Beautiful stay - I needed to get out into nature and I was able to do so. Absolutely would stay again……

“We loved stargazing from the deck - amazing night sky (especially with binoculars)! The cabin was very comfortable and had adequate supplies for cooking basic meals. The location is VERY remote, which we frequently look for. A mid-point for exploring both Acadia/Bar Harbor and the Bold Coast - Quoddy Head, Lubec, Western Head Preserve and East Port.”

“My husband had to work in Machias, so we had the opportunity to stay in this spacious house with our four kids. Although the weather wasn't ideal, we hardly noticed because the house was filled with an abundance of games, puzzles, and movies! We had a blast the entire time we were there. I also appreciated the decor and especially loved the cozy quiet spots where I could escape with a good book. ”
