It's upcountry, which means it's a 20-30 minute drive at least to most attractions, but the tradeoff is a beautiful view and a quiet space to come home to. (You're also much closer to Haleakala than staying in the more populated areas.) It was clean and super well stocked. We had everything we needed for a few simple meals throughout the week. I can’t think of anything we needed that we did not have at our fingertips.
