“Very nice property along the river. Only thing that I could possibly complain about is the bed in the single cabin uses to be a double when our family stayed before now it's more like a bunk bed not suitable for a couple and the pillows on it are so heavy you can't even pick them up. Maybe update the photos to all the new work done that looks so nice since we last stayed.”

“We loved this house, so much character. The owner was so sweet and helpful. We cooked and ate our meals here (you can even do a grocery pickup at the Kroger which is not far away). We loved listening to the river, and truly just enjoyed our stay. We would definitely come back!”

“This house was nicer than the photos! It was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with implements to make a delicious surf and turf dinner. 1st floor bath had a wonderful shower and the queen beds were great. Host was very responsive and helpful. The view was breathtaking and the area had a lot to offer.”

“Pro: Beautiful area. New River Gorge is amazing. The house had everything you needed with a good layout. We couldn't have a fire due to the drought, but the firepit looked great. Also, because of the drought, the water levels were low but host provide 6 gallons of drinking water. Con: Directions to the property were not helpful and we had to call VRBO twice while driving around for an hour to figure out where to go. For future, please let guest know to follow the yellow arrow on the paved……

“Great stay at Sophia’s place. The fire-pit and s'mores were a great end to a day of hiking. It was a nice touch that the firewood and s'mores were provided. Would recommend if ever in the New River Gorge area. ”

“Everything about this listing was accurate. The home is spotless, beautifully decorated, and a short drive to all the must-see spots in NRG. The hosts went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, and make our birthday girl feel special upon arrival. We were blown away by the kindness. “We spent a long weekend here for my husbands birthday. The house was perfect! Loved the decor and the hot tub! The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to make breakfast and dinner! I mean everything! The house was so cozy and in the best location!! Close to everything but still out of the busy areas! The host was so nice and informative. Overall a great experience and we are already thinking about coming back next year. ”

“What a find this place was! Loved the retro decor but with modern appliances and amenities. Very comfy beds and furniture, and lovely screened porch facing the woods. Mt. Hope is not much of a town but it’s located about halfway between the northern and southern ends of the NP which made for shorter drives in either direction to access trails. Both Beckley and Fayetteville are 15 minutes away where there are stores and restaurants for stocking up or eating meals out. This rental was such a great……

“The only reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because we could not get the hot tub to work while we were there. The host was very communicative and the house was very clean and had all of the amenities listed. The game room turned out to be a gem that we didn’t expect to utilize as much as we did. Would definitely recommend this rental! ”
