Had BBQ dinner buffet served by the owner of the resort. Very friendly staff and the lodge we stayed in was very clean. Beach is great for all ages and free kayaks and canoes were the cherry on top. “Perfect for a solo retreat! I needed some relaxing time alone in the woods (in a beautiful maple forest, no less), but still wanted to be somewhat close to civilization, and this was the spot! I got such refreshing, restful sleep every night in this absolutely quiet, tiny (but airy) playhouse of a cottage, thanks to the super cozy and comfy bed! It was all just so sweet—even if, as I did, you just want to hang out and read as you listen to the rain all day. Grand Marais is only eighteen minutes……

“We really enjoyed our stay at this off-grid cabin. We chose it because it was close to some hikes that we wanted to do. We made foil dinner packets to cook over the fire pit, and loved sitting outside looking at the stars. There was a chance of seeing the Northern Lights, but we never saw any. The bed in the loft and the futon were very comfortable and there were plenty of blankets to keep us warm. It got chilly overnight, and we were tempted to start a fire in the stove the next morning, but we……
