“stay here because it is very closed to the train and bus station of Hastings. the town itself doesnt have too much attractions but you can go Battle (Battle Abbey), Bodiam castle easily. Room and shared toliet is small but ok for a single backpacker”

“Lovely winter option. Pod was cosy and warm. Shower/toilet block was excellent. Kettle and a few tea/coffee amenities provided which was lovely. Only thing the pod could have done with was a nightstand/bedside table for glasses, phone etc as ended up using one of the fold up wooden chairs. Mattress was very soft so if you’re used to a firm mattress just make note.”

“This hotel has an amazing history and needs to be supported so it can be preserved. Our room was a really good size (triple) and had a separate dressing area. The breakfast was excellent value. The bathroom is due a revamp but was still serviceable. Make sure you check out the piano bar and main stairwells.”

“Loved our stay at The Gallivant and would definitely visit again! Due to the location of the hotel I think this is definitely more of a seasonal hotel, however this didn’t impact my opinion of it, the service was great, room was lovely and the food (both breakfast and dinner) was incredible! My only complaint is that they don’t have tea/coffee making facilities in the room, we were told that we could go to the bar for these however, they charge for them on your bill at the end of the stay which……

“Cant fault the manager's or staff 10/10 for service and friendliness. The bar areas were clean and had character with the odd bit of quirkiness thrown in. We had two breakfasts and evening meals. Both had great choices and were a few notches up on the usual pub grub. Quality local produce, cooked and presented well. There is a chef in the kitchen. Unfortunately the accommodation wasn,t up to the same standard. The room was spacious and clean but the quality of the furniture was very poor. The……
