“The purpose of my stay in Castle Cary was to go visit the Newt in Somerset.I was warmly greeted and thanks to Martin’s lifts to and from the Newt made it so easy.the house is amazing.the garden backs unto fields.It is idyllic. I recommend this B&B to anyone who loves a beautiful setting”

“We booked a small double for the week end which was perfect for us. It was beautifully furnished and the bathroom was spacious and luxurious. The Staff were brilliant, we received a warm welcome on arrival and nothing was too much trouble. We had the a la carte menu on the first night which was delicious and pizzas from the pizza kitchen on the second - also delicious. Finally - the breakfasts were just fantastic - and again - the team there couldn't be more helpful and attentive. Would……

“We stayed in Room 8 for four nights and had a wonderful stay. Breakfast was made to order by the chef and was absolutely delicious. The dinners were magnificent – and the Sunday roast was one of the best we've ever had! Everything was made from scratch, with perfectly cooked vegetables and a choice of pork, beef, lamb, or chicken (or even a mix of meats!). Even though it was Mother’s Day and fully booked, the quality and portions were just as high – no drop in standards at all. Highly……

“We had a nice time at the Pecking Mill. It was clean, the room was extra large, with a double bed and two single beds. The breakfast was cook nicely and was hot. There were cereals, yogurts, toast, orange juice and hot drinks. A lovely place to stay.”
