“Breakfast was perfect, quiet and all top notch continental breakfast foods. Friendly staff we met at the hotel and next door restaurant. Only difficulty for my husband was the slick tub with no grab rail.”
“Stamphill is in an old boarding house. Rooms are upstairs and there is no elevator which can be tricky if you have mobility issues. The room was clean and spacious. Bob, the owner, was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and saloon below the room were both good. Especially after a long drive when you don’t want to go very far to eat. ”
“This place is close to everything and far enough away to not be affected by the busyness that is Lead and Deadwood. I love being near the woods and mountains but where it is quiet and peaceful. This is a no frills, down to earth kind of place and I love it! ”

“Fantastic hotel. We were greeted with a gift (specialty labeled beer/wine for the hotel) and at the time of our arrival the chef was making brats complimentary for guests on the patio. The room was perfect and we were able to walk 3 directions to get to anything we wanted to do, the 4th side backs up to the mountains and nature.”

“This little motel is fabulous! It's so clean and the hosts are very friendly. The bed was comfortable and all amenities provided. There's a beautiful little creek behind the motel and cozy gliding rockers to sit and enjoy the sounds of the babbling brook going by. I wish I could have stayed longer and I will definitely be back.”

Breakfast at the hotel was excellent. For $12 we had the Layup: 2 eggs, sausage or bacon, english muffin or toast. Always fast, hot and delicious. Out server remembered us every day and was a highlight of our stay.”

This was reasonably priced compared to other hotels in this area and was in walking distance of downtown. The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly!”
