“Stunning views, peaceful, private and quiet. Well stocked kitchen, bathroom, laundry. Enjoyed the additional outdoor shower. Good grill. Kitty was sweet and we enjoyed the little geckos. Very clean overall, but outdoor kitchen cabinets and drawers, as well as the oven & broiler could have used a bit more cleaning. ”

“Amazing property. Beautiful, quiet, private space. Very nice two bedroom unit with everything you need. We really enjoyed Koki, a sweet dog that would visit from time to time. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck and listening to the birds and frogs. We’d love to stay again. ”

“We stayed 12 nights and absolutely loved it! Puako is a hidden gem on the Big Island. The house was so comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed waking up to the sound of the birds each morning, seeing all the geckos, and looking out for other wildlife (mongooses, wild pigs, etc). We were just a short walk from the ocean and tons of world class snorkeling. We also spent a lot of time at nearby Waialea Beach (also amazing). Literally no complaints, except we wished we could have stayed longer! Thank you……

“We just got home from a week long stay at the Foster Ohia Rental Home. This was our first trip not staying with family locally, so finding this home nearby was perfect. The home was so comfy and included everything you’d need to make your stay enjoyable. It was private and excluded and we already miss going to sleep to the sound of the coquis and waking up to the chirping birds of the forest. Staying up on the hill was much more enjoyable and offered a nice reprieve from the Kona heat. Also……

“Great stay with only very minor negative points. The Pots in the kitchen could be better.Therefore the yard is awesome. Propably the nicest i have seen so far. The house is gorgeous too, but don't expect to much privacy between your party members.The Guest room gets quite warm without A/C but it's ok. Overall a fantastic stay and i will come back as soon as i can afford Hawaii again.”

“Mango Cottage is a great home base for exploring the island. 2nd time staying here. Host is super cool and helpful. If you need anything during your stay, he's there for you! The cottage has everything you need- plus the bedroom is air conditioned. It might sound odd to think AC is needed, but the end of summer can get toasty-so if you're comparing different places, be sure to consider AC! “Loved our stay here. It was the perfect spot a little off the beaten path that was a great home base for our adventures on the big island. Close enough to everything you need and far enough from the hoardes of tourists, with lots of little shops and spots to check out nearby. As for the space itself, it's super cozy and has an incredible ocean view from the screened in patio. Waking up to that view was one of the best parts of our trip. Would 100% stay here again.”

“After a disappointing Kona Condo stay, this was a delight. I enjoyed the peacefulness, sounds of the jungle, and the coziness of the cottage. When we arrived we were greeted by two large parrots on the owners property, and a gaggle (?) of turkeys! various cats were spotted but kept their distance. The cottage was clean and inviting. Grocery and coffee shops within a few miles. The koi ponds and resident turtles were lovely. The Cottage itself had most everything one needs. The……

“The cottage was everything we hoped for and more. The cottage was beautifully decorated with many fresh bouquets of plants and flowers. The garden was enchanting. Gale the Host was thoughtful and kind. She greeted us with homemade applebanana bread, a bowl of fresh homegrown papaya, lemon applebanana, and lime. Gale gave us a tour of the entire property and gracious throughout our stay.”
