“We stayed at the Golden Lion with friends as we were walking the 3 peaks on the Friday, we both stayed in a classic room, the rooms were lovely, comfy bed, hair dryer, shampoo and conditioner, tea and coffee and bottled water, don't forget to ask for milk before bed. We ate in the restaurant both nights, the food was lovely and we had great service. We had asked for breakfast the morning of our walk as we had to leave at half 6, unfortunately they forgot to leave out any bread or bowls for……

“So upon arrival the hotel had no record of our booking through Hotels.com. Luckily they had a room available and gave it us for the rate id booked a year ago. The room was large, nicely decorated. Comfortable bed. Large bathroom. Breakfast was outstanding delicious. The staff were lovely. We had two issues. The toilet wasn't clean, had poo stains from previous guests. And there was no hot water from the shower. Luckily the bath was ok. ”

“Ignore the reviews. Yes it's a 2 star hotel. And Yes it needs work doing to it. It was like a hotel that time forgot. Breakfast was basic full English. I dont eat meat so wasnt a problem I had eggs on toast and fruit if i wanted it. We found it charming, had character. The couple were lovely. Mrs Gamble couldn't do enough. Was like being at my Grandma's house. Thank you Mr and Mrs Gamble”
