“Fantastisch hotel, gerund door een Peruaanse familie. Echte aanrader. Goed gelegen, en gevestigd in een mooi historisch koloniaal huis. De service tijdens ons verblijf was uitmuntend. We hebben dat op een bijzondere manier mogen ervaren. Zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij, en veel extra hulp toen mijn vrouw ziek werd. Nog zeer veel dank daarvoor! We hopen nog eens terug te komen naar Arequipa. We zullen dan zeker weer een kamer boeken bij El Balcon.”
“Definitivamente deberian sacar de la pagina los hoteles que no estan en funcionamiento. Llegue el dia de mi reserva despues de un viaje de 18 horas para que me atiendan diciendome que no sabian nada y que estaba cerrado. La dueña no estaba pero me habian confirmado la reserva. PESIMA COMUNICACION”
“Traffic outside door and on one side of hotel makes it noisy on one side of rooms.
We had trouble with non functioning safes and heating/cooling system.
The staff was always present and very helpful.
They prepared a complimentary lunch when our departure was before breakfast. Great location for easy walk to center but traffic and pollution from traffic a negative.”
“We enjoyed our 3 nights at this hotel from a Thursday - Sunday. But on the Friday night, the music from the club across the street made sleeping impossible... until 3:00 am!! It was horrible! We were VERY excited on the Saturday when we walked by and some bylaw officials were shutting it down for the night. Not sure if this is a long-term thing or just a one-night penalty of some soft but at least we got to sleep before heading to Colca Canyon.

“Very helpful staff, they helped me to do printing of ticket, to order taxi and to talk a bus company who didn't send me email of purchased ticket. Room is spacious and very clean. Breakfast at terrace was really nice. Though you have to walk for 10 mins to plaza de arms, it was worth walking coz for the price and peaceful atmosphere of the place. Highly recommend!”
