“So peaceful! We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed some great mountain biking. Lots of wildlife and very good wild swimming.”

“The house was an ideal setting to see in the new year. The area has lots of interesting walks and cycling routes. The hosts provided plenty communication ahead of the booking and accomodated for our youngest guest (1 year old). The property could benefit from a few more kitchen essentials (bin bags, dish clothes etc), but this a wasn't major issue. All in all, a really nice stay.”

“Cottage was clean cosy and comfortable. It is about 15 mins drive to castle douglas. Owners live next door so easy to contact with minor issues. We were familiar with local area as visited frequently before.”

“7 of us descended on Penninham House for Christmas and had a wonderful time. The staff were fantastic and super helpful even when we had to call at 21:00 due to a fallen tree!”

“We brought our three married children,their partners and our five grandchildren to Albion House to spend Christmas together. Albion House was perfect for us. Warm,very well equipped, comfortable beds,travel cot and trouble taken to decorate a Christmas tree and decorate the rooms. Extra praise for the way a forgotten wallet was promptly detached. We can recommend Albion House without reservation.”

“We had a lovely few days at Stellock house, helped by decent winter weather. The house is in a perfect out-of-the-way location but not too remote. The garden is large and safe for dogs, there’s a really nice brazier for an outdoor evening fire and we appreciated the provision of logs and kindling at this time of year. The house was warm, clean and cosy- it wasn’t really warm enough to use the conservatory which was a shame as it’s a beautiful addition to the property. There are really good……

“The property is lovely. The problem is the listing on Vrbo does not explain the pricing correctly and our full party details were not passed on . Resulting in us having pay extra money the day after we arrived . And the cottage is not worth that amount of money.”
