“A good experience all round. The hotel was everything we wanted it to be. The surrounding countryside, just beautiful. Would like to have stayed a bit longer.”
“This was our second visit (one year later). The friendliness of the staff is still good but the food quality and service has deteriorated. Quite a long wait for food. Understandable as they were busy and happy to wait for freshly cooked food. However all three different main courses were dry and overcooked. The pasta with the salmon was just a few rings which hadn't been mixed properly with the sauce.
At breakfast (which was not busy) there was very little fruit juice in the containers. The milk……

“The Bay Tree House was lovely. The room was clean and comfortable; Gary was friendly and helpful; and the location is a short walk to town. I also walked to both of Thomas Hardy’s homes. Max Gate was a leisurely ten minutes away; the cottage was a longer walk, but the route through the Dorset countryside was indescribably beautiful.”
“The hotel was welcoming and the room was spacious, and comfortable, if a little stuffy. It was at the top of the building and the windows would only open a little. The room would have been less stuffy had the windows been opened before we arrived, and the blinds drawn. It was clean, and the linen was all good.
All in all, a pleasant stay.”
