“Die Lage des Hotels mit der Aussicht auf das Meer und die Bucht ist grandios. Obwohl wir dem Besitzer bereits 2 Tage vor Ankunft mitgeteilt haben, dass wir erst um ca. 22.00 Uhr mit dem Taxi vom Flughafen kommen, war nur seine Mutter im Haus, die kein Wort englisch spricht. Sie hat den Besitzer angerufen und dieser hat uns mitgeteilt, dass es sein Fehler sei, dass das Hotel komplett besetzt sei. Im Nachbarhaus sei ein Zimmer für uns frei für diese 1. Nacht. Also schleppten wir unsere Koffer in……

“This was an amazing trip, the location is really nice and quiet, close to national road to take you to Chania, lovely town close by called Armenoi with butcher, cheese monger and nice restaurants, close to Kalives with beach bars restaurants etc. The host Stefanos is a lovely friendly man who will assist with any needs. He allowed us to check in nice and early and greeted us with a smile. He would come chat with us daily if he saw us sat outside. No noise at night which is amazing”

Having a sitting room and two bathrooms was very helpful and the two terraces were wonderful. the accommodation was beautiful and clean and we left very relaxed. The food was exceptional and the dinner buffet very good value head and shoulders above most we have experienced in terms of quality and choice. Excellent in all respects apart from the MUZAK which is played morning noon and night and spoils the wonderful rooftop breakfast experience totally. ”

“This property is gorgeous and off the beaten track along a winding mountain road in a village with approx 25 inhabitants-so very good for an escape. Made up of traditional villas with comfy beds and shared pool. Easily drivable to beaches in abt 30 mins”

“Die Lage des Hotels ist top. Innenstadt und trotzdem ruhig zum Schlafen. Lediglich, dass wir im Erdgeschoss nur ein kleines Fenster hatten zum Luftaustausch war zu wenig. ”

“Our stay at The Tanneries was exceptional. The property is gorgeous and modern yet fitting the historical surroundings, the rooms are also very modern and lovely with immediate proximity/ views to the water. Most importantly the staff is wonderful. On the first day of my stay I got a massage, scrub and facial with Katarina and it was excellent. Then the next day the reception staff went out of their way to help when my colleague was not feeling well. I can’t say enough about The Tanneries……
